GMP-compliant plants
The Headquarters' Plant has introduced a production system that is compliant with the latest good manufacturing practices (GMP) criteria and handles validation. In particular, Kokando has established internal standards compatible with GMP requirements related to microorganisms, and rigorous checks are made. The Company is continuing to strengthen its production system and is working to improve its stable supply of quality products and productivity and to make operations more labor-efficient.
Automation
Automation is being introduced to increase efficiency and reduce human error at Kokando's plants. It has been possible to achieve more stable production by retaining existing good equipment and introducing the latest equipment.
Clean technology
It is only natural that medicines, which make people healthy, are produced in a clean environment. Having established strict criteria and procedures related to the brining in of materials and entering and leaving of people, Kokando conducts operations that meet the criteria and follow established procedures. However, the Company is not complacent with present conditions and is working to make its facilities even cleaner.

Headquarters Plant
The Headquarters Plant undertakes the development of solid dosage forms and related technology. As a plant specializing in solid dosage forms, it produces and packages tablets, pills, granules, film-coated/sugar-coated tablets, and powders in bulk. The plant, which mainly produces tablets, has a production line with a capacity of 3 billion tablets a year and produced 2.4 billion tables in 2007.

Namerikawa Plant
As a plant specializing in the production of drinks, the Namerikawa Plant is equipped with the latest high-speed production line with an output of 800 bottles a minute and is a concentrated production system with a capacity of 1 million bottles a day or 200 million bottles annually. The plant meets the diverse needs of customers and supplies various (liquid) products from medicines to quasi-drugs and soft drinks through its unique production technology.

Kureha Plant
Kureha Plant, launched with global and domestic expansion of contract manufacturing in mind, was completed in April 2010.This plant, built to fulfill one of our medium-term management plans, "Aiming for the internationally recognized CMO of choice," meets trilateral GMP regulations.It has gone into full operation in September 2010 as a plant specializing in solid dosage forms.
