The history of Kokando and its deep relationship with Etchu medicines are discussed at the Kokando Museum, which is located on the grounds of the headquarters. Various valuable items are on display at the museum, including tools that demonstrate the cleverness of olden-day medicine peddlers and nostalgic medicine packages.
Toyama original medicines developed in partnership with the government and academia
Kokando is actively taking part in the development of Toyama original medicines through a partnership with the government and academia. This is an effort to create new Toyama medicines by melding the region’s tradition of medicine that extends more than 300 years into the past with the latest technology, and the goal is to develop a new industry in the fields of medicine and biotechnology.
Kokando considers coexisting with the natural environment and working to reduce the environmental burden of all corporate activities, including research and development, production, distribution, and capital expenditures, important duties. In its various operations, the Company has become more efficient in terms of natural resources and energy, minimizes emissions, and recycles.
